The history of Quba mosque

Quba mosque is situated 5 km from Medina. It was built by Prophet Muhammad during his emigration from Mecca to Medina. He built the first house of prayer and led the first congregational prayer.
The prophet emigrated to Medina and reached there on a Monday, on the 12th of Rabiul-Awwal (27 September 622 AD), in the thirteen year after the start of his mission. He remained with Banu ‘Amr bin ‘Awf from Monday until Thursday on a place outside Medina known as Quba.

The first thing which he did in Quba was to build Quba mosque during those few short days in which he remained resident there and it is the first mosque built in Islam and mosques have developed significantly since Quba mosque..

Before noon on Friday, the 16th of Rabiul-Awwal, he went on to Al-Medina. Up till now so many visitors to Al-Medina make a point to visit the First Mosque, where they pray at least once during their stay there.
